Our mission is to help every child reach their full potential while empowering families throughout the process. These services are available to families in the Minneapolis area.

What is EIDBI?

Early Intensive Developmental and Behavioral Intervention (EIDBI) is a program tailored to children and young adults diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or related conditions. Using evidence-based therapies, EIDBI promotes growth in key developmental areas such as:

  • Communication

  • Social skills

  • Adaptive behaviors

Each treatment plan is customized to fit the individual needs of the child, encouraging independence and progress. In addition to direct therapy, EIDBI includes training and support for families, building a strong partnership to ensure lasting success.

Understanding EIDBI

The Early Intensive Developmental and Behavioral Intervention (EIDBI) program offers a comprehensive approach to supporting children and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related conditions. By integrating multiple therapeutic methods, EIDBI creates a personalized learning environment that builds on each child’s strengths while addressing their challenges.

Early intervention is a key principle of EIDBI. Research shows that timely support can lead to meaningful progress in communication, behavior, and daily living skills. The earlier support begins, the greater the opportunity for long-term growth and improved outcomes.

Family involvement is at the heart of the EIDBI model. Parents and caregivers become active participants in the therapy process, learning practical strategies to reinforce skills at home. This close collaboration strengthens not only the child’s development but also the family’s confidence in supporting their journey.

Alongside developmental goals, EIDBI emphasizes emotional well-being and social connection. Therapists build trusted relationships with each child, creating a nurturing space that encourages curiosity, resilience, and interaction with others. By nurturing these essential life skills, the program helps lay the foundation for greater independence and success in everyday life.

EIDBI vs. ABA: What’s the Difference?

EIDBI (Early Intensive Developmental and Behavioral Intervention) and ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) are closely related approaches but differ in scope and focus. EIDBI offers a comprehensive framework that includes multiple evidence-based therapies such as ABA, DIR/Floortime, and the Early Start Denver Model. Its goal is to support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in developing communication, social, emotional, and adaptive skills through individualized, family-centered care. In contrast, ABA is a more targeted therapy that uses behavioral principles to teach positive behaviors, reduce challenging behaviors, and promote skill acquisition. While ABA is a core component of EIDBI, EIDBI encompasses a broader, more holistic approach, focusing not only on behavior but also on emotional well-being, family involvement, and overall developmental growth.
